SUSPENSION CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY
Water resistant - to help prevent moisture intrusion that causes the OE ball joint to creak and fail, the ball joint is protected by a completely sealed housing
Stronger arm - unlike the Tesla fiber-reinforced plastic design arm assembly, this control arm is a much stronger forged steel insert riveted to a stamped steel control arm
Better repair - this improved control arm assembly is engineered by the aftermarket leader in suspension components to match the fit of the factory assembly but exceed OE performance and durability
Upgraded design - this front upper left control arm assembly features a forged steel housing and sealed ball joint designed to provide greater strength and reliability than the factory assembly
On certain Tesla Model X SUVs, the front upper left control arm can crack and separate from the steering knuckle, often without warning and under normal driving conditions. This can cause a sudden and unexpected loss of steering control. The original equipment design also uses a plastic cap over the ball joint that tends to trap moisture accumulation. That can cause an increasingly frequent creaking sound in the vehicle's front end and ultimately cause the joint to fail. This Dorman OE FIX upper front suspension control arm and ball joint assembly addresses these costly and dangerous potential failure points so vehicle owners can opt for a more permanent repair than offered by the factory design. Unlike the Tesla plastic arm assembly, our upgraded arm design prevents stress cracks and knuckle separation by utilizing a much stronger forged steel ball joint housing with a stamped steel arm attached by sturdy rivets. To help prevent damaging corrosion and moisture intrusion, this design eliminates the plastic cap to allow water to evaporate, the arm is electrostatically coated. and the ball joint is protected by a completely sealed housing. Precision engineered and manufactured to help provide many miles of reliable service, this improved control arm assembly is designed to exactly match the fit of the factory assembly, but far exceed its performance and durability.
