Upgraded repair - this pair of patent-pending Dorman OE FIX axle assemblies eliminates the thin-walled internally-threaded axle shaft ends of the OE design and the failure-prone hub bolts
Position-specific - this kit contains one right rear axle assembly and one left rear axle assembly engineered and upgraded for selected 2021-2025 Ford F-150 trucks equipped with the Max Tow package
The bolts that secures the right and left rear hubs to the axle on certain 2021-2025 Ford F-150 trucks equipped with the Max Tow package have been known to shear off after day-to-day driving, a modest number of towing trips or ventures off-road. Failure symptoms include the sound of brakes that are dragging (a result of the brake rotor moving freely against the hub), a rattle caused by sheared bolt heads trapped inside the assembly and in extreme cases, severe changes in handling. The dealer solution is to replace axle assemblies with the same original equipment design, inviting a future similar failure. Our patent-pending Dorman OE FIX axle assembly eliminates the thin-walled internally-threaded axle end of the factory shaft design and the failure-prone bolt that connects it to the hub. The upgraded axle shaft features an externally-threaded male end and matching nut to capture the axle end, resulting in a more secure connection between the hub and the axle. The assembly is designed for a straightforward installation and a longer-lasting repair that can prevent potentially dangerous vehicle control issues and multiple dealership repair visits that can keep a customer vehicle out of commission for several days. This kit contains the axle shafts, spacers and nuts required to replace one left rear axle assembly and one right rear axle assembly. For only the right side assembly, select Dorman part number 630-050; for the left side assembly, select Dorman part number 630-051.
