VVT SOLENOID
Saves money - this VVT spool valve is designed to save money by enabling the replacement of just the top half of the spool valve and the failed gasket instead of replacing the whole valve assembly
Restores performance - engineered to help restore performance of VTEC engines when original gasket(s) or valve(s) fail
Prevents damage - eliminates spool valve oil leaks that can drip onto and destroy the alternator, and ultimately disable the vehicle
Simplified repair - comes complete with the top half of the spool valve, gaskets, and oil pressure sensor for a simple, less expensive repair on specified Honda and Acura vehicles
When the gasket on the original equipment variable valve timing (VVT) spool valve fails on VTEC engines on certain Acura and Honda vehicles, the dealer only offers a complete, costly valve assembly as a replacement. But Honda has acknowledged the bottom half of the factory spool valve usually isn't necessary to replace, instructing its dealership technicians in one service bulletin to simply dispose of that bottom half of the new assembly when it arrives instead of going through the effort to replace it. This Dorman OE FIX VVT spool valve is designed to save money by enabling the replacement of just the top half of the spool valve and the failed gaskets, saving unnecessary expense, helping to restore engine performance, and eliminating oil leaks that can land on and destroy the alternator.
